Someone who is consistent always behaves in the same way, has the same attitudes towards people or things, or achieves the same level of success in something.
After three years resigned, the only thing that becomes my biggest homework is being consistent to the things i am doing everyday.
I cannot say it is easy. As easy as the book of professional development keeps on saying about being consistent. For me, it is a cycle of being on fire and off fire, lol.
There would be a time (can be within a month) i could be consistent in posting my social media content even shutterstock, then on the other time i could do nothing. And doing nothing could take a week, a month or even three months!
I feel proud if I could beat my distraction and back on track. Yet, i feel like i have to love myself and give myself space whenever it is not in the track. Salute to everyone who made it on top and could consistent to their passion! I am not using the word ‘work’ because it could be mixed up by translated ‘working in an office’ – I refer to all freelancers, like me.
I started my own things three years ago in Shutterstock and Adobe Stock. I aimed to upload 10 thousands image within two years. Fun fact, i did not upload anything in two years and my images in Shutterstock are in the same number since two years ago.
I started to learn natural wellness. I took a class last year on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Yaay i got one certificate earlier this year but struggling to manage my time to finish the other class. Most of the class I took online, I took notes and reviewed whenever needed.
I started my blogs, this one, rarely updated.
I started social media content through instagram, twitter, tiktok to promote my natural wellness product, but yea… on and off
I started to learn stocks and shares, errr… okay good thing I realized faster that I am not a trader but sleeping investor
I started this, I started that – but as you read this blog – you will agree that all I need is being consistent.
However, I found a word in the book that I read now. It is “Blisscipline”
It is the discipline of daily bliss. The process of consciously raising one’s happiness level by adopting specific systems for living.
Vishen Lakhiani on The Code of Extra Ordinary Mind
This blisscipline reminds me of every Sadhana i have to take everytime i finished my Traditional Chinese Medicine course. Sadhana simply a daily ritual practice. The word here is ‘rite’. It means an act on doing it – usually in a religion or a custom. When we are doing rite, mostly we will do it wholeheartedly. That is what we are doing in Sadhana – by being present and doing it wholeheartedly. Isn’t is quite the same on what we have to do in our day to day daily basis? Doing things wholeheartedly as it is to God and not to impress other human being?
I remember last year, i wrote my Sadhana only for Rishi Belly Massage before sleep. That was only thing I did for my 40 days Sadhana. My night routine.
I tried hard not to stumble and re do again another 40 days. Guess what? I need to re – do my Sadhana again. HA HA
However, every time I aware that I missed my routine, I would give myself a space. I honored the space by spoiling myself too much sometime. But hey, this writing is a reward for me because within this 3 months I have been doing meditation daily. I did my trilogy of inner child healing (this is more than 1 month), 21 days self healing and another 21 days abundance meditation by Deepak Chopra.
This is to tell you, being human we are going to face ups and downs with being consistent. That is okay.
Whenever you are aware that you are going down, it is a good thing to stay present by being in the present. Deep inhale, long exhale and being grateful with journey you have made. When you are ready, continue your journey again. Isn’t it there is this beautiful poem : “Rest if you must, but don’t quit?”
Yes, I am still doing Rishi Belly Massage every night, soaking my feet inside the warm water and pouring it with salts and essential oils, oh – and i am still reading. Those are my night routine.
My morning routine will look like : yoga 10 minutes, qigong 10 minutes, meditation and reading the Bible. Whenever I have more time I would add my yoga time.
I do believe, I will be there. But as for now, i do enjoy my ups and downs process.
