What is actually your definition about ‘teacher’? Well, if we define teaching as facilitating learning, it implies that considerations of knowledge transfer are no doubt important. However, it is only valuable only in relation to the quality of learning itself.
Being a teacher, there are some skills that you should have, mainly are:
- 1. You should know to employ the most effective teaching and learning strategies, surely this will enable your students in making such progress.
- 2. Assessment is also important. Since it implies your students’ comprehension, understanding and you also can check whether your students can do the assessment or not. Assessment is also can be used to plan your future teaching and learning activities
- 3. You know how to motivate your students. Well, you can start with the intrinsic motivation by telling them the benefit of learning such subject. Then you can give rewards – the positive one-, since this is considered as extrinsic motivation. Not only motivating students to learn but also teach the students how to learn (a lil’ bit different.. I think)
In my opinion, good teaching is as much as about passion, we do it because we want it, we truly enjoy it. And with our passion, we convey the passion to everyone.
